New Gate Procedures

With the increased threat of COVID-19, the 377th Security Forces Defenders need your help to promote the safety and wellbeing of all Team Kirtland members and visitors.

As you enter the gate, please hold onto your CAC/ID (DBIDS) card and show the back barcode to the SF [Security Force] member working. Do NOT hand it to them. Once your card is scanned or reviewed, follow the directions from the Defender. The Defenders at the gate will not be touching your ID card. DO NOT proceed through the gate until you are directed to so as not to cause confusion or initiate any other actions.

While on Base

Use of cloth face coverings are required by ALL personnel within the Defense Commissary Agency facility, Base Exchange Complex facility, Shoppettes, 377 ABW Medical facilities and on all base food service public areas (when not seated.)​

Bx/Commissary access restricted to Active Military and Military Retirees.

Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel has cancelled services; East Fitness Center is open for Active Duty ONLY during regular hours – no 24/7 access. IDs will be checked.


Eubank Gate is closed due to construction. The new completion date is mid-August 2020.

From the Kirtland Air Force Base App – Eubank Gate Security Improvement Project – Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) began a construction project at the Eubank gate to address security concerns and provide access to the new NNSA Albuquerque Complex. Those who live, work, and provide services to the base will experience impacts and delays. This will especially affect access to and from the Base during peak hours. However, delays are not really expected until January 2020. is a resource for construction project progress.

The best way to keep track of what is going on is to download the Kirtland Air Force Base or Kirtland App. You can get the app on the Google Play (Android phones) app and the iTunes Store (Apple) app. If you access, there is a link in the upper right corner to get the Kirtland App. After you download the Kirtland App, set up notifications as follows:

Android Users Notification Setup:

1. Click the information icon in the upper right corner

2. Ensure you ENABLE ‘Push Notifications’

3. Select ‘Settings’, then ‘Subscriptions’

4. Select one or more categories to receive notification about. a. Base Events b. Delayed Openings/Early Release c. Weather Warnings

Apple Users Notification Setup: NOTE: Notification options will automatically display ‘Allow Notifications’.

To adjust this setting

1. Go to ‘Settings,’ then ‘Notifications’

2. Select ‘KAFB’ (Kirtland App)

3. Turn on ‘Allow Notifications’
