Meetings

Coronado Thunderbirds monthly General Meetings are held at the Mountain View Club (MVC)  (formerly the Officer’s Club East – Building 22000, at the East end of Club Road) on Kirtland Air Force Base, normally on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings begin at noon with 30 minutes of business before the program, which lasts about an hour. Many members come for lunch at 11:00 am and have a meal, costing from $8.95-$9.95 (Non-Members pay $1.00 more). It’s a great time to socialize.

The meeting includes a program, and the program varies. One month it may be a speaker, usually a local public figure; another month it might be a video; another month it might be a performance by a group such as The Rio Grande Players; and another month it might be a demonstration of a technique, such as hands-on CPR. There is a wide variety of topics and interests!

The months of August (Annual Picnic) and September (Annual Meeting, Election, and ice cream social) usually do not include a speaker. In the month of December, there is usually no Board Meeting and there is no General Meeting.  However, the Christmas Social coincides with the MVC Sunday Brunch in December.

If you know of anyone or any group who might be interested in giving a presentation to the Coronado Thunderbirds, contact Dave Melgaard, Vice President/Programs.
